I was at Target today and saw all the school supplies. I don't know if I still get excited
over school stuff from your childhood or mine, but I had to buy a new pencil. It just seemed
like the right thing to do. (and made me happy too.)
I hope you can view the cartoon to make it larger, it's a good one.
It was so wonderful having everyone here for the weekend.
Oh yes, one more thing, WHO ATE MY PINK CRULLER DOUGHNUT?
Love you, Mom

Goodbye to a Legend
Well, it sold. Not Jack, the house or the black scooter, but my own little Bavarian. Goodbye to a legend, goodbye to heated seats, goodbye to parking close at the courthouse, (sob, sniff) oh, well. Nic will get me another nice car someday (or else. . . j/k). But now it's good because we have money for tuition and insurance and hopefully two more cars, but if not, we have plenty of scooters. I threw April a baby shower on Saturday and I didn't even take pictures of the masterpiece. At the end though, I looked around and thought, this cost this much money? (*this=what I spent) and was this much work and I figured I should have just bought her a cool gift. Live and learn.

Lake Powell

Something got me excited. . .
Jessica said she read the blog and loved it and I showed her how to post and she still hasn't (?!?!?!) but the most important message I got from the whole conversation is that we have a reader folks, actually that would be "folk" aka Jessica. I've decided that we will be having a course at Lake Powell, entitled, "Posting on the Family Blog and Liking It," no, it will not be optional. I know what you're all thinking, what about Mom, she won't even be there. She will be getting her own private tutorial with a few hands-on classroom experiences so don't you worry. Update on family fun activities: As far as family get-togethers up north, we do have our share thank-you and sometimes they are not even planned. Like today, Nic, Jack and I were at Seven Peaks and I hear someone shout my name and lo and behold it's my sister. I would have ran to hug her but she was wet and it was cold outside. I did watch to make sure she survived, "the boomerang" aka "the whiplash fall of death" so I was looking out for her. she also came over last Friday to help out with Jack. She didn't know that's what she would be doing but she had the thought to spring to action when I yelled out from the couch for him not to put Teddy's bed in the oven. No, Teddy wasn't in his bed and no the oven wasn't on(I don't think), everyone just calm down and take a deep breath and someone revive Jillane. But it had been a long week and it would have taken something a lot more exciting than a baking dog bed to get me off the couch, a DQ Blizzard perhaps? Perhaps. I did give Jessica my Jennifer Jolley Never Fail Dating Tips and she was on to strut her stuff.
Tomorrow Nic finishes his finals for spring term and won't begin school again until September. I've decided to give him the same words of wisdom Dad gave me at graduation: get a job. . . cause I"m quitting. (the last part, Dad didn't say).

Mercedes v. crying
Last time I had a miscarriage, I bought a Mercedes. That wasn't smart. This time, I have suppressed such rash emotional decisions until I was at work and in front of two judges. Yep, that is two judges that I have cried in front of. Don't worry, I wasn't in a courtroom with tomatoes being thrown at me, one was in Judge's chambers, the other was at my office during a mediation. Sad, but at least it doesn't equate to a monthly payment for a depreciating car. I have made a quick observation in that no one else has been posting to this site. Now, I don't expect a daily journal report, but at least throw me a bone and throw in a picture or something. Is anyone reading this? Is it really facilitating family togetherness? I will have to say no. But that is okay, because if in our family we want to know how someone is doing, we call them, and that is better than a blog.

Life in the Fast Lane
This morning I realized yet again what a slow jogger I am. I was on the sidewalk and a guy, about 8 feet in front of me, entered the sidewalk, walking with his IPod to the gym or something. . . and I could not catch up. We were going the same pace with his walking and my jogging, so I had to speed up pass him, wait till he was out of sight and then sit down and take a breather.
On Sunday night, we will not be taking phone calls, its the season finale of Lost, excitement and tensions will be high, Jack will be ignored, and Teddy's on babysitting duty; it's a 2.5 hour special and we be excited but sad too. Feel free to send flowers again.

New neighbors
We have a house across the street from us that has about 10 new guys living there for the spring and summer. Some of the things they have done so far:
-race up and down the streets, gunning it on their motorcycles then turning around the three blocks and doing it again.
-they all pretty much sunbathe everyday with their shirts off up front; one guy sunbathes in his underwear. yesterday, he pulled up the tighty whities up in wedgie like formation so his cheeks were hanging out. The police were called and the officer (female) told him to go put on some pants before she would talk to him.
-they play loud music either through speakers or on an electric guitar. police showed up yesterday and today.
-we finally got to meet some of them, they came over today to see if we were the ones to call the police, not in a threatening type manner just wanted us to talk to them if there were problems before calling the police, we became friends after we told them it wasn't us
-the worst part is, I don't have any pictures of the above but am working on it, the guy was out in his underwear again today but as soon as I took out my camera a police officer showed up again, oh well, maybe tomorrow. . .

C'C'C'Mon Everybody
So I'm tired of writing on my own blog cause no one ever reads it and it's more fun to interact and make up stories about everyone else rather than just my own little family. So, I sent each family an email invite to be an author. If you did not get one, it might mean that we're really not your family or that I sent it to an old e-mail. Either way, let me know and I'll get you hooked up. One more thing, you can only be an author with a gmail account. For those of you who need help how to post, let me know and we'll go through it step by step on the phone, for the rest of you besides Mom, you can figure it out. Okay, can't wait to hear from you. . . . feel free to post anything from what you ate for dinner or discussions on why you want Ochocinco to win Dancing with the Stars to pictures of your new outfit or of your laundry room getting flooded, wait those are my next posts so you might have to get your own ideas. k, bye
